Furman Paladins Women’s Basketball started its season at S.C. State for its season opener. Furman who is picked to finish third in the league has a great chance this season to do something special under second year head coach Piere Curtis. returning are two all-stars, Sydney Ryan, and Tate Walters.

Furman comes out a little timed at first and allows the Bulldogs to take the early lead and end the first quarter down by 2 points yet not out. They will have to get better shooting and defensive help to take control of the game in the second half.

The Paladins are able to have a stronger second period and get the lead going into halftime over the home team Bulldogs.

The Paladins come out of halftime with a great energy, and it shows on the court, as they are playing better defense and scoring has come better this quarter. Coach Curtis has defiantly had the ladies buy into his gameplan, and Furman leads by 10 46-36 over the SC State Bulldogs. We head to the final quarter to see if this will be win number one of year two of Coach Curtis.

The Furman Paladins Women’s Basketball team gets win one of new season beating the host team South Carolina State Bulldogs 60-54. The Paladins looked pretty good in the win tonight, and now head home for this week’s first home game of the season in their new away home at North Greenville for this season.
