Furman Women’s Basketball (3-2) took the second half to spread out the lead and leave the USC Upstate Spartans (1-4) wondering what hit them Tuesday night at Haynes Gym. USC Upstate pulled into within 6 points by the half 33-27, but Coach Curtis got with the ladies at halftime and got them ready for a battle in the third in which they dominated the Spartans 30-8, and it was over from there as the freshman class came in and kept up the hard work in the fourth for the Paladins win.

Tate Walters 16 points, Niveya Henley 15 points, Sydney Ryan 16 points led the Paladins and gave stand out performances last night. Coach Curtis spoke on how Tate having a changed role in the team has helped her not feel she has to play two roles on offense.

The Women’s basketball team plays Bob Jones Saturday 2pm then heads to the Georgia State Invitational Tuesday-Thursday for a tournament and Furman Joust will be there for Tuesday and Wednesday. Furman will play Campbell on Tuesday 2pm, then Georgia St. noon, and Purdue Fort Wayne Thanksgiving Day at 2pm to close out the week.
