The Furman Paladins Women’s team took a trip to East Carolina to face the Pirates on Thursday night and was dealt a rude hand. The Pirates came out swinging and gave the Paladins a loss 67-51, as the Paladins was unable to keep ECU out of the paint and getting great shot opportunities.

Thye Paladins gave a great effort and was unable to get close enough to make the game interesting at the end. Furman now (2-2) was led by last year’s duo of Kate Johnson (14 points 7 rebounds) and Tate Walters (14 points 6 rebounds) in the loss. Clare Coyle led with rebounds of 13 and 4 points in a great effort.

The Paladins will be in action on the 19th to face USC Upstate at 6pm at North Greenville the home of the Furman Women’s basketball this season while Timmons is being updated.
