The Furman Paladins women’s soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to nine games with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over ETSU on Saturday. The decisive moment came in the 53rd minute when Nieva Gaither found the back of the net, securing the win for Furman.

From the outset, Furman during the match was able to keep showcasing their strong defensive led by 5th year senior Miya Poplin. Despite several attempts from both teams, the score remained tied until Gaither’s breakthrough goal, which energized the Paladins. Furman’s defense held strong in the face of ETSU’s late efforts to equalize, with goalkeeper Reese Dejong making 6 saves to maintain the clean sheet.
