Furman is slowly making its way down the field; Furman is in the red zone at the 15-yard line and is ready to get back in this game. We are headed to the fourth quarter with Furman in scoring position, needing something this possession to get back in this game.
Furman is able to get the field goal, and we are at 13-19 Wofford still ahead with 13 minutes left in the game. The Paladins of course need a touchdown with a extra point to win this game at this point, but first comes a defense stop of the Terriers. The defense holds and now the offense will take over at the 27-yard line and build on what it did the last drive. The Paladins get nowhere and have to punt away, and Wofford will fair catch it at the 13-yard line and with just over 9 minutes to go, try and get another score and put the game away if possible.
Wofford like Furman is unable to get a first down so the Paladins will get the ball back around the 45-yard line of Furman, so it is first down. We are at the two-minute warning here at Furman with it being first and ten for the Terriers at the 39-yard line of Wofford. The game is pretty much said and done as Furman will drop two straight to its cross-town rival Wofford. The game still has 1:52 left and Furman with no more timeouts left and its 3rd and 6. Luke Clark gets a huge stop in the backfield. Wofford kicks it back to the 18-yard line. Furman trying to get a long pass play misses then completes a short pass and its 3rd down. The game is over as Furman can’t get a first down on 4th down and 1 yard. The game ends 13-19 Wofford with the win.
