Paladins and Mocs Clash in Semi Finals

Furman Coyle
The Furman Paladins punched their ticket into the semifinal round by defeating #3 ETSU Bucs on Thursday and now face a huge challenge again by facing #2 UT Chattanooga Mocs with the winner facing UNC Greensboro on Sunday in the championship game.
Furman would run into a roadblock in the semifinals game as they would lose 63-55, after all of the seniors left everything on the court in the loss. Senior Tate Walters lead the Paladins with 19 points in what would be her final game, as Jada Session had 7 points and 10 rebounds, and Kate Johnson also had 7 points in their final game. Freshman Clare Coyle had 2 points and 6 rebounds as she this tournament would show she will now help lead the Paladins into the future at the new Timmons Arena.
Furman would finish the year 16-16, 5-9 in the SoCon, and will miss such an awesome group of young ladies. Coach on the podium as expected was upset that his team had loss but was ready to get started on next year’s group after getting a chance to speak to his senior leaders who had gave the university so much over the past 4 years.
