Mosquera Named SoCon Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Mosquera, a native of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., netted a pair of goals this past week as the Paladins opened the 2023 season with back-to-back victories over Presbyterian and Georgia Southern. The junior scored in the 56th minute of Thursday night’s contest in Clinton, S.C., to lift Furman to a 1-0 win over the Blue Hose in the season opener before scoring less than five minutes into Sunday’s home opener as the Paladins toppled the Eagles, 2-1.
Valentina was named Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week today by the league office. As a transfer from Winthrop from the 2022 season, she has had 6 goals in 20 appearances with Furman during 10 starts.
Furman Ladies Soccer returns to action on Thursday when North Greenville comes to Seagraves Field at 7pm. Admission is free for the match and streamed on ESPN+. Live feeds will be viable on furmanpaladins.com.
