The Furman Women’s Soccer team starts the doubleheader night of soccer at Freshman Frenzy taking on the visiting Presbyterian. The game starts off with a back and forth tug a war with Presbyterian getting the first goal at the 33rd minute by #18 Lieber with a assist from #11 Muller.

Furman seems to be a little out of sorts but keeps battling to keep the ball on the Blue Hose side of the field. Furman has 3 shots on goal to Presbyterian 1 shot which of course went in. Furman is seeing the ball on their side way too much for Coach Burr’s liking here at the 25-minute mark.

Furman playing some great defense versus Presbyterian with just under five minutes left in the first half of the match. With two minutes left in the half Furman has 8 shots on goal 2 saves and 5 corner kicks. We are at halftime here at Furman with Presbyterian still leading 1-0 over our Furman Paladin Women’s soccer team.

Halftime Stats: Furman Goalkeeper Reese DeJong GA 1- Saves 2, Shots Furman 9 Blue Hose 5, Corner Kicks Furman 6 Blue Hose 1, Fouls Furman 2 Blue Hose 6 There has been 3 yellow cards given with 2 on Presbyterian and 1 on Furman.

Furman gets the goal and its tied 1-1 with 31 minutes left in the game. Furman has come alive and is really pressing the issue on the Presbyterian side of the field. At the 25th minute #23 from Presbyterian gets a yellow card shot over the defense and the goalie and its Goal Blue Hose and now the score is 2-1 Presbyterian leading Furman.

The match is in the 16th minute and Furman has 13 shots on goal to Presbyterian with 10 as we are widening down to Furman needing to get some excitement for the fans.

the game ends with Presbyterian getting the win 2-1 over Furman. Men’s game is up next.
