The Women’s basketball team was able to get some huge honors in the preseason polls with a 3rd place ranking, and also to have three ladies picked to the All-Soc squad. Furman was tied with Samford for third in the polls with the top honor going to Wofford, with UNCG taking second.

The honors didn’t stop there with three of Furman’s trio of stars getting honored to the All=SoCon team. Senior forwards Jada Sessions, and Kate Johnson, and graduate Guard Tate Walters. The three ladies have all been previously on the all-conference honors team before. Session was a part of the second team All-SoCon last year, leading both Furman in scoring (12.1) and rebounding (8.1), adding third in SoCon in board work with 6 double doubles. Johnson was also on the second team all-conference as she boosted a (11.2) ppg and a (6.5) rpg last year average. She also had a .601 field goal percentage that was the top in the SoCon, while also having double doubles in 19 of 28 games.
