Furman Track and Field Set Records at Valentine Invitational in Boston
Furman Track and Field went to Boston to make a statement and that was what happened when Senior Cameron Ponder, and Sophomore Camryn Wennersten set Paladin records to lead their team. Ponder posted a time of 7:48.20 in the men’s 3,000meters. He was the fourth collegiate finisher and placed 10th overall.
Wennersten won her heat of the Women’s 1000m with a school record of 2:46.90 and finished 8th overall and 3rd of collegiate runners. Also team members Nick Goldstien, and Luke Taylor placed well, and Ladies Megan Marvin and Madelynne Cadeau placed well in their events. Furman will go to the USC Invite in Columbia SC next week, before heading to Lexington, Va. for the Southern Conference Championship Feb 24th-25th.
