Furman to face Stetson after rocky start to 2024 season

#image_title

Furman Football returns to action Saturday at 2 EST when they face the Stetson Hatters in non-conference FCS gridiron action.

The Paladins have experienced a less than ideal start to the 2024 season, as losses to the SEC’s Ole Miss Rebels on the road and the Charleston Southern Buccaneers at home have dropped Furman to an 0-2 record on the season.

The story could not be more different for the Stetson Hatters, who come into Saturday’s contest with an unblemished 2-0 record. However, Furman will be the first FCS opponent of the season for the Hatters, who have only played D2 Ave Maria and the NAIA’s Warner University to this date.

Saturday’s contest will be the second home game of the season for Furman, and will serve as the culmination of the school’s “Hall of Fame” weekend, the festivities for which began on Friday.

Series History:

In only two contests between Stetson and Furman, the Hatters hold a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series. According to the website of Stetson athletics, the last recorded matchup between the schools was just under 72 years ago, on October 11th in 1952.
