Furman Softball Faces Samford Bulldogs in a Double Header at Pepsi Stadium
The Furman Paladins Softball (18-21, 3-6 SoCon) face off with the Samford Bulldogs (12-25, 5-4 SoCon) in a double header today in Pepsi Stadium. It’s a Bark in the Park Day where fans have brought the furry friends out to enjoy the great weather and the game.
The Bulldogs are first on the board after 2 errors and a homerun they take a 3-0 lead at the top of the 1st inning. The Paladins leave two on base in the 1st but cannot get them in, so we head to the second inning 2-0 Samford in the lead. The Bulldogs would get two more in the 4th inning after another error by Furman and its 5-0.
We are in the bottom of the seventh and Furman needs to score 6 to get the win, with one out and senior Hannah Poole up to bat. She pops out to center field and its one out to go here in Game 1 of the series double header today. Furman gets a runner on as #1Ansley Chiang gets a single thru the infield. Furman loses Game 1 5-0 to Samford Bulldogs; Game 2 will start shortly.
