Furman Softball Faces Off with Towson in Game 8 of Furman Invitational
Furman Paladins Women’s Softball (5-1) takes on the Towson Tigers (2-4) in the first of two games tonight. The Paladins after a huge come from behind win last night hope to have the same magic strike them twice today. Towson comes into tonight’s game after a win over Lipscomb.
The game is tied at zero till the 3rd inning when #18 Sylvia Burroughs hits a grand slam the first of the year, and its 4-0 Furman out ahead of the visiting Townson Tigers. The Towson Tigers are able to get out of the inning with no more issues but find themselves behind by four heading to the fourth inning.
Furman is able to add one more run in the 5th inning to keep Towson at bay, it is 5-1 heading to the sixth inning of play here at Pepsi stadium. New pitcher on the mound for Furman, #16 Lauralee Scott junior righthander as they hope to close this one out to get ready for the next game tonight vs. Georgetown.
Bottom of the sixth as Furman wants to add to its lead and get the win number two for the weekend.
