JP Pegues had 23 points plus career highs 9 Reb, and 9 assist to lead Furman to a 99-76 win over Belmont on Friday night in front of a great crowd at Timmons arena. The Paladins was able to push the ball all over the court and come out with a huge win to go to 2-0 before heading to the Mrytle Beach Invitational next week.

Belmont was led by Ja’Kobi Gillespie with 21 points, 5 Reb, and 2 assists in the loss to the Paladins. Furman had 5 players in double digits scoring as PJay Smith (15) Marcus Foster (16) Garrett Hien (13) and Cooper Bowser (10) in the game, while Tyrese Hughey led with 10 rebounds.
