Furman MBB keeps positive momentum rolling with 27 point drubbing of Chattanooga

The Furman Paladins Men’s basketball team played host to Southern Conference foe Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon in Timmons arena.

The Paladins (15-12, 9-5) took home the win by a surprisingly dominant 27 point margin to secure their third straight victory and the 9th Furman win in their last 12 contests. It was a somewhat shocking loss for the Mocs (18-9, 10-4) who had won 8 out of their last ten games prior to Sunday’s blowout loss to Furman.

Furman leaped out in front from the get-go in the contest, scoring 48 points in the first half to lead by 19 at halftime. The Paladins never slowed down from there, going on to to win with a final score of 82-65.

JP Pegues led Furman with 22 points and Marcus Foster added 15 points of his own.

Honor Huff led the Mocs with 26 points, but Huff was the only Chattanooga player to score more than 10 points.

The Paladins will return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to face the current #1 team in the SoCon in Samford. For more coverage of Furman Paladins’ athletics, be sure to follow the Furman Joust podcast on Twitter/X or explore our website at furmanjoust.com.
