Furman Indoor Track Runners Take Honors
The Southern Conference announced that Furman Men’s Indoor Track runner Dylan Schubert and Women’s runner Kaylie Armitage were named track athletes of the week. Selections was made by the panels created by the league’s coaches of track and field.

Armitage on December 7th competed at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season opener in the 3000m at the Boston University and places 32nd overall. She was able to win her heat, with a time of 9:14.06, the junior from Rhode Island is ranked 24th in the NCAA rankings and has her at the top of the conference to begin the season.
Schubert, who was also at the same meet placed 5th overall in the 5000m with a time of 13:17.89. He set a new program record, besting his previous record set last season. The native of Colorado now sits in 5th in the NCAA and leads the conference early standings.
