Furman Downs WCU 82-73
The Furman Paladins Women’s Basketball on Thursday night was able to get a huge 1st conference win versus Western Carolina 82-73. Tate Walters had a career high 30 points, and Sydney Ryan had 22 points helping lead the team to victory. Coach Curtis had his group ready for the challenge and his Road Warriors as he calls his team since they don’t have a true home game this year due to Timmons Arena being revamped showed up and showed out.
The Paladins jumped out to a commanding lead to start the game and lead by as much as 20 points. The Catamounts fought back and came to within 8 points at one point in the 4th quarter, but Furman was able to kill the clock, get much needed shots to go in and the defense did its part to get the win.
Furman will now be playing at Bons Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday at 2pm versus SoCon rival UNC Greensboro as part of a double header as the men will play at 5pm versus UT Chattanooga. Make sure to come out and support the team or you can watch on ESPN+.
