FCS No. 2 Furman Shuts Down VMI To Claim Outright SoCon Title, 37-3

The Furman Paladins came in today with the automatic FCS bid as at least co-champs of the SoCon but today they walked away the undisputed Champs of the SoCon. VMI fell behind quickly to a battle tested team of seniors which held VMI at the half to only 9 yards.
Carson Jones was spot on with his throws, the offense was clicking well, and the defense was lights out. The game was more than just a game, a tribute to veterans, and the seniors who some will be playing their last regular season game at Furman, as if Furman can finish at #2 they will have home field advantage till the Championship in Texas January 8th.
