Bulldogs Beat Paladins 74-46
The Furman Women’s basketball (2-1) and Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) faced off in Athens Sunday and the Lady Bulldogs was able to put on a great win versus a stout Furman team who had been unbeaten till Sunday. Furman played tough in the first two quarters keeping the Bulldogs close.
By halftime the Paladins had closed the gap to eight points and gave Coach Curtis a chance to draw up a plan to get them back in the game. The Paladins came out to a different Bulldogs team that also had changed up to pull away from the Lady Paladins.
The Bulldogs extended its lead in the third quarter even with Furman making some key shots and also playing good defense, the Bulldogs shots just kept going in and causing the Paladins to fall behind more. The start of the fourth quarter would have the Paladins down 19 points and in a tough spot with time flying by quick.
The Paladins would give a great effort but would not be able to overcome the deficit and in turn fell to the Bulldogs in Athens 73-46 in front of a great crowd and decent turn out on the road by the Furman fans. Furman will have its next test on the road to ECU on Thursday at 6pm. make sure to go out and support the lady Paladins as they work on getting ready for SoCon play.
