The Furman Paladins Women’s Basketball (9-6) fell to the NC Central Rams (2-12) 77-76 after a jump shot with 3 seconds left by Aysia Hinton got the Rams a much-needed win and dealt Furman a loss in its last non-conference game before the start of the year.

Furman had pretty much led the entire game till that point. Furman had led the rebound margin 38-27 yet had 19 costly turnovers that played a huge factor in the loss. Johnson led Furman with 17 points and nine rebounds, followed by Sydney Ryan with 15 points. Tate Walters finished with 11 points for the Paladins, who were forced to play without starting junior guard Niveya Henley after the redshirt junior exited the game in the second quarter due to injury.

The Rams, who competed with only seven players in uniform, blistered the nets at a 50.9 shooting clip, connecting on 28-of-55 attempts, including 8-of-18 from 3-point range. NCCU drained 11 of 15 shots (73.3%) in the fourth quarter. The Paladins host Southern Wesleyan at 2pm on Jan 1st at home in Haynes Gym at North Greenville University.
