Furman Paladins Women’s soccer went into the Semi Finals today with a mission to get to the Southern Conference Championship by beating the Samford Bulldogs. The Paladins fought hard to get to this point, with several key injuries at the start of the year, then to get healthy right at the start of Southern Conference play.

The Paladins would keep Samford out of the goal winning area all the way up till halftime. They showed why their defense led by Senior Maya Poplin and Freshman Goalkeeper Reese DeJong who replaced Addison Corn after an injury early this year. Furman would have several chances itself to get a goal but just came up short. The Samford team would then at the 88th minute get what would be the winning goal and end Furman’s amazing season. I hope everyone will join me and saying thank you to Coach Burr and the entire Women’s soccer programs, players and coaches for such a great season.
