A Look at Travis Blackshire #1
Travis Blackshire, a 5’11 180 CB out of Benedictine Military School in 2019 was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman team his first year with the Paladins. He went on after the 2020 covid season to be named (2nd team on both Coaches & Media) All Conference team with honors in 2022 being named to the Coaches 2nd team All Southern Conference with also being 2022 Southern Conference Special Team Player of the Week vs. Wofford.
Travis was voted a 2023 Team Co Captain and is looking forward to a huge year anchoring the secondary for Furman. He is ranked the #15 Cornerback in FCS, with 40 starts getting 9 interceptions with 24 pass defenses in his career which puts him at first among returning players this year. Travis has looked great getting ready for the season which starts tonight at 7pm versus Tennessee Tech. His hard work and leadership will help lead the seasoned secondary to be a strength for Coach Clay Hendricks.
