Kennesaw State Invades Furman Ladies Lacrosse at Paladin Stadium
Furman Lacrosse heads into today’s action versus Kennesaw St. lacrosse at Paladin Stadium with a decent crowd on hand as Furman has allot of great sports going on today at the campus.
The Paladins are 0-1 coming into today’s matchup after losing to top ranked Clemson last week. Kennesaw is 2-0 coming into today’s game versus the Paladins. Paladins get the first goal of the day as #20 gets her first goal of the game. Kennesaw St gets its the first goal of the game #16 gets it in at the 10:55 mark of the game. Furman gets a score as #20 gets her second score of the game and its 2-1 Furman ahead again. Furman gets another goal at the 9:51 mark and its 3-1 Furman thanks to #1.
Gurman gets yet another goal as #20 gets her 3rd goal of the day and its 4-1 Furman over Kennesaw St. with 9:12 left in the game. Kennesaw St battles back and gets a goal from #39 and we have an official timeout on the field with 7:59 left in the period.
Kennesaw St. gets another goal and its 4-3 with 7:03 left in the period. Kennesaw St gets yet another as #18 with assist from #2 and it’s tied at 4-4 with 5:48 left in the period. Kennesaw St is on a hot streak and gets another goal and its 5-4 the Owls leading to Paladins with 4:10 left to play in the period. Kennesaw St is able to get another goal and extends its lead to 6-4 with a little over 2 minutes in the game. Kennesaw St after a steal gets another goal to make this a 7-4 game as Furman is really needing to get back in this game. Furman gets its first goal in several minutes and #20 gets her 4th goal of the game and its 7-5 KSU still leading Furman with 30 seconds left in the game.
KSU Owls get another goal from #32 and its 8-5 Owls over the Paladins with 13:51 left in the period. Kennesaw St. is able to yet get another goal and it is 9-5 as Furman calls a timeout on the field. KSU Owls seem to be able to score at will in this game and the Furman defense is just not stopping them and Coach Lauren Farber has to get her ladies calmed down and focused on the defensive stops. Furman finally gets a goal as #17 gets a goal and it is now 9-6 Owls still ahead with 10:28 left in the half. Furman gets a goal from #15 and Furman is slowly getting back in this game 9-7 Paladins still behind the Owls.
Furman gets a goal when #15 gets an assist from #17 and #7 who was able to get the steal and race down the field to set up the goal. We have 6:45 left in the game and its 9-8 Furman is now down by one and trying to tie this game back up.

Furman gets another goal and tie the game at 9-9 and KSU calls a timeout as Furman has really started to play better defense and the offense is getting back on track. There is 4:13 left in the half and the Owls are now the ones on the defensive side as Furman is playing a better game this quarter so far. Kennesaw St Owls get a goal on the new goalie from Furman #28 and its 10-9 KSU back in the lead.
KSU Owls get another goal, and it is 11-9, Furman is willing to play catch up today as every time they get back in the game KDSU answers and pulls away. We come to halftime with Furman #15 getting a score to bring Furman to a 10-11 score behind the Owls of KSU.
Furman gets a goal right off the bat as #20 gets her fifth goal of the game at the 14:22 mark of the 3rd period. Furman gets yet another goal #1 gets it in and Furman takes a 12-11 lead over KSU Owls.
Furman now gets another huge goal #20 gets her 6th goal of the game and Furman starts off like the first period and its now 13-11 Paladins ahead of the Owls of KSU. Furman gets another score #20 a career high 7 goals from her and its a media timeout as Furman leads 14-11 with 5:03 left in the 3rd period.
Furman defense at the 3:05 mark gives up a goal and it is 14-12 now with the Paladins still in the lead. KSU once again gets another goal and like the first Furman is giving up its advantage as the Owls are getting back in this game. Furman gets a goal to go back up 15-13 in the game with 1:11 left in the third period.
We are at the end of 3 quarters of play and Furman is ahead 15-13 and the final period is upon us. Furman has played well most the game, they have to keep Kennesaw St at bay, and not allow them to gain momentum and get back in the game. Furman gets a goal from #20 who ties a Furman record for goals #8th total for the game. She breaks the record with 9 goals and with 12 minutes left in the game its 17-13 Furman in the lead but its not safe yet as Kennesaw St. has scored fast in several spots in this game.
Kennesaw State University grabs a goal, and it is now 17-14, Furman needs to get that one back and not allow them back in this game. Kennesaw St Owls starts its comeback with, yet another goal 17-15 game and Furman is starting to break down on defense, they need to score here on the draw. Furman gets the goal it needed and its now 18-15 as #15 gets the goal with assist from #14.
Furman is now in the driver’s seat with just under 3 minutes to go. Furman passing around and trying to get another goal with under two minutes left. Furman scores a goal by #7 and they get the extra insurance goal and its 19-15 with 1:50 left in the game. Furman gets the win over Kennesaw St.
