Furman MBB falls to Wofford, snaps 5 game winning streak

The Furman Paladins Men’s basketball team played host to the Wofford Terriers in Saturday evening Southern Conference action.

The Paladins (11-10, 5-3) entered the contest with a 5 game winning streak, but the Terriers (12-9, 5-3) managed to come into Timmons arena in Greenville and secure the 77-67 victory.


The Terriers controlled the contest for the majority of its duration, maintaining a solid lead throughout the second half. Wofford outscored Furman by 10 points in the first half and wouldn’t relinquish the lead again, eventually winning by the same margin that they held over the Paladins at halftime.

Marcus Foster led the Paladins with a 22 point and 10 rebound double-double while Alex Williams and JP Pegues each added 15 points to the Furman total.

On the Wofford side of the stat sheet, Corey Tripp paced the Terriers with 20 points while Kyler Filewich added a 17 point and 10 rebound double-double.
