Furman Paladins Men’s Basketball Face off with PC Blue Hose
Tonight, the Paladins are entertaining the PC Blue Hose at Timmons Arena in front of a great crowd considering the students are not on campus.
The game starts off fast paced and the visiting PC basketball team jumps out to the lead but Furman battles back at the 12:44 mark of the media timeout Furman 11-13 PC in the lead. Furman has kept it close so far and Coach Richey will make sure his guys are ready after this media timeout to battle back. Furman has 10 points in the paint and three of those on fast breaks. Hein and Whitt lead with 4 points a piece.
The Paladins at this point are shooting 41.7%, 3-4 from the FT line. Furman has battled to tie the game at 18-18, then take the lead 20-18 with 8:46 left in the first half. Media timeout with the Paladins leading the Blue Hose 22-18 with 7:23 left in the first half. The Paladins with 16 points in the paint, 8 points of the bench, 3 points apiece off turnovers and fast break. also shooting 75% from the free throw line.
Coming out of the timeout Furman gets two quick goals and its now 26-20 with 6:03 left in the half. Media Timeout with 3:38 left in the half has a 28-22 lead with great play in the paint by the Paladins. The Paladins have 22 points in the paint, 60% at the line, and 10 points off the bench at this point with your leading scorers Garrett Hien 6 points, Whitt with 5, and several with 4 points, Furman goes into the half with a 37-26 lead.

Garrett Hein leads the Furman team with 10 points and 5 rebounds, JP Pegues with 6 points, Carter Whitt with 5 points 4 rebounds. JP Pegues comes out hot as Furman extends it lead after he hits several 3-point shots 47-30. The media timeout comes at 15:03 left in the game and its 51-33 Paladins in the lead over the Blue Hose of PC.

It’s a timeout at the 3:38 point in the game, Paladins are in the lead by 20 points 70-50 and the fans are still very much into the game.
We have a timeout, and the fans are starting to leave as Furman has a 73-58 score over PC and it’s 1:16 left in the game. Furman has been in complete control of the game since the 10-minute mark in the first half. Tonight, was a much-needed win and boost for the guys, and with just a few more games before they start SoCon play every win is important. The Paladins win the game 76-61!
