Furman WBB goes down 85-55 in non-conference road contest with Georgia
The Furman Paladins Women’s Basketball team traveled to Athens, GA on Sunday afternoon to face the Georgia Bulldogs on the road.
Furman (5-4) could never get it going in the contest as the Paladins were outscored by Georgia (6-2) in every quarter, eventually falling by a final score of 85-55.
Preseason all-SoCon guard Tate Walters led the Paladins with 14 points and 7 assists while starting forward Kate Johnson added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Backup Furman guard Niveya Henley contributed 13 points coming off the bench, good for the 2nd highest scoring total on the team.
Forward Zoesha Smith led the Bulldogs in most major statistical category with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals while backup guard Chloe Chapman led the team in assists with 10. Chapman also turned in a double double by adding 10 points to her double digit assists.
