Furman Players Earn SoCon POW Honors
The Southern Conference listed its players of the week and Furman had several on the list that performed at a high-level last week. here are some of the players from Furman who was able to grab top honors in the SoCon:

Freshman Goalkeeper Reese DeJong had a stellar performance for the Paladins last week playing 180 minutes at goal, in her first two SoCon starts, earning four saves in the 1-0 win over UNC Greensboro. She followed that up with another shutout with 6 saves versus ETSU. She now ranks third in the SoCon in goals against average.

SoCon also recognized Furman Men’s and Women’s stars Luke Taylor and Madelynne Cadeau as top Cross-Country runners of the week. Both runners competed at the Royal Cross Country Challenge on October 11th in the gold races. Cadeau ran a 17:05, and finishing second overall in the 5k, which also bested her performance from last year. Taylor finished third in his 8k race with a 24:03 time. Both runners will be in action on October 19th at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals in Madison and the Upstate Invite in Spartanburg SC.
